Mark is VP of Health and Wellbeing Commercialisation at Ploughshare, where he leads the growth of the life sciences portfolio, focusing on transforming early-stage healthcare technologies into successful commercial ventures. With a deep passion for science and technology, Mark combines extensive experience in healthcare and medtech innovation to ensure technologies reach the market and deliver real societal impact.
Holding a BSc, MSc, and PhD covering physical and life sciences, Mark began his career as a product manager developing metrology platform solutions for the pharmaceutical sector before embedding himself in the technology transfer ecosystem over the last decade. His expertise spans chemistry, engineering, and even astrophysics, reflecting tremendous versatility in out-licensing and spin-out creation.
Known for his strategic vision and hands-on leadership, Mark balances driving innovation with practical execution. Outside of work, he pairs an active lifestyle with a creative streak, often recovering from endurance challenges with physiotherapy and collaborating with his young daughter on artistic projects in their garage studio – an exhibition is reportedly in the works.
