Commercialisation Manager

Camilla is a Commercialisation Manager within Ploughshare’s Climate, Environment and Sustainability team, where she helps turn groundbreaking research into real-world impact. She brings a strong track record of supporting innovation across diverse scientific fields, with a career that bridges technical expertise and business development.

Before joining Ploughshare, Camilla spent over three years as a consultant working with SMEs and start-ups to secure competitive, non-dilutive grant funding. She supported organisations with grant applications in a range of areas – including energy, engineering, agritech, AI and machine learning, and medical technologies – helping them identify the right opportunities and shape robust business plans to accelerate growth.

Her academic background is equally broad and rigorous. Camilla holds a PhD in Engineering, a Master’s in Volcanology, a degree in Physics, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law. During her research career she collaborated with internationally recognised institutions such as the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology and the Colorado School of Mines, and spent time at the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory as a geodesy volunteer.

At Ploughshare, Camilla draws on this unique blend of scientific knowledge and commercial insight to drive innovation in industries tackling some of society’s most pressing challenges. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring new places and playing tennis.
