About Ploughshare:
At Ploughshare, we turn cutting‑edge defence and security research into real‑world solutions. We work with scientists, engineers and innovators to bring new technologies to market through licensing, spin-out creation and strategic partnerships. Our work is fast‑moving, meaningful and contributes directly to national security, industry growth and wider societal benefit.
In response to the UK Defence Industrial Strategy, Ploughshare launched the Technology and Growth (TAG) Alliance – a new, senior level alliance designed to accelerate the commercial impact of defence origin technologies. With 16 founding members announced at DSEI 2025, TAG is now entering its critical first year of delivery.
To support this, we are looking for a TAG Alliance Delivery Manager on a 12 month contract to provide the operational backbone that enables the Alliance to function effectively, consistently and with purpose.
About the role:
This is a hands‑on delivery and coordination role, focused on turning strategic intent into structured plans, high‑quality materials and effective execution.
As TAG Alliance Delivery Manager, you will be the operational lead for the Alliance’s first‑year programme. You will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and TAG leadership, enabling senior leaders to focus on strategy, influence and external engagement, while you ensure the Alliance operates with clarity, rhythm and discipline.
The role sits within Ploughshare, ensuring TAG is fully aligned with our mandate, values, governance and ways of working. You will also contribute thoughtfully to the evolution of TAG, bringing insight from delivery, members and the wider innovation ecosystem.
Key responsibilities:
Programme and operations
- Develop and maintain the consolidated TAG Alliance programme plan, ensuring clarity of priorities, sequencing and delivery rhythm.
- Translate strategic intent from the CMO and TAG leadership into practical plans, timelines, materials and actions.
- Act as the central point of coordination across TAG workstreams, ensuring dependencies and managed and delivery remains coherent.
Secretariat and governance support
- Operate as the secretariat for the Alliance, ensuring agendas, briefings, papers and follow‑ups are prepared to a high standard.
- Produce clear, concise stakeholder briefings and presentations (Word / PowerPoint) for senior leadership, government and members.
- Surface risks, delivery issues and opportunities clearly and early for decision, without escalating detail unnecessarily.
Member and stakeholder coordination
- Act as the central point of contact for Alliance member communications.
- Lead the operational onboarding of new members and support effective collaboration between existing members.
- Identify partner and ecosystem organisations with a vested interest in activating the Alliance, supporting briefing and outreach activity.
Events and best‑practice workstreams
- Support delivery of TAG’s best‑practice workstream, including planning, briefing and coordinating speakers and case studies for six‑weekly events.
- Support preparation for C‑suite‑level convenings (e.g. supper clubs) including agenda development and conversation guides.
- Work closely with the Market Activation Lead to ensure alignment between programme delivery and external market engagement.
Strategic contribution
- Contribute constructively to TAG Alliance thinking and evolution, bringing insight from delivery, members and the wider ecosystem.
What success looks like:
- TAG Alliance operates with clear structure, pace and discipline, without senior leadership being drawn into day‑to‑day coordination.
- Members experience TAG as well‑run, professional and valuable, with clear communication and purposeful engagement.
- Strategic opportunities, risks and system gaps are identified and articulated clearly to inform leadership decision‑making.
- Full alignment and integration between TAG and Ploughshare business development and Commercialisation team, ensuring we operate as one business/one team, supporting respective goals and outcomes.
What you will bring:
- Strong organisational and programme coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple moving parts calmly and effectively.
- Proven experience engaging stakeholders and supporting high‑level forums through high‑quality briefing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working across different levels.
- Strategic mindset combined with attention to detail – able to contribute to thinking while excelling in execution.
- Experience within an innovation ecosystem, alliance, membership organisation or complex multi‑stakeholder environment is a strong advantage.
