I’ve been fortunate to have a career working with interesting people and for organisations that really make a difference – Ploughshare very much ticks these boxes.
With a very bright, intelligent team working on some of Defence’s most innovative technologies and getting even greater benefit from them for our wider society – Ploughshare couldn’t be a more stimulating organisation to work for.
With a background in modern languages, followed by an MSc in International Relations, I spent my early career working across the House of Commons, House of Lords, Home Office and then whilst doing some work for Westminster City Council, was asked to help coordinate the initial response to the London Bombings in 2005. This became a longer-term role after being asked to set up the government-funded national multi-agency response to 7/7 and other terrorist-related incidents in the UK and abroad. After two and half years leading this and sharing the learning with disaster responders internationally, I moved to supporting the Armed Forces during Op Herrick and beyond, working alongside UK Defence supporting military personnel, veterans and their families, leading a range of internationally delivered services across Adoption, Bereavement support, Welfare, Housing, Care Homes, Criminal Justice and more.
Having spent over 20 years working across Government, the Armed Forces and the private sector, I’m delighted to bring my experience to Ploughshare as Chief Operating Officer.
Away from the office, I love interior design, spin classes, wine tasting and enjoying life with my young children, husband and friends.
