I have always wanted to work at the intersection of Science and Business. Following a degree in Physics, I entered the world of technical/scientific project management: first in Pharmaceuticals and then in Defence, at Dstl for 10 years then AWE for nine years.
My passion for learning about new technologies and their applications has seen me working across areas such as CBRN protection, body and vehicle armour systems, power sources, materials, explosives, and tooling.
I am relishing the prospect of being able to work as a Commercialisation Manger, and bringing my experience to a new arena that gets to exploit some of the brilliant discoveries I have seen my MOD colleagues make. The chance to help get these new technologies out into the wider world and see them make an even bigger impact for both MOD and beyond presents new challenges and opportunities that I look forward to meeting.
Outside of work, I am kept pretty busy running around after my family, including our dog, but try to get out on my Mountain Bike when I can and always look forward to our camping trips.
